9/11 or Bust
Why haven't they attacked since 9/11? Why haven't we seen another terror attack in the United States since the World Trade Center and Pentagon were hit almost 4 years ago? It is my contention that Al Qaida is biding their time for a more "spectacular" attack that will be witnessed by all the world via live coverage of that event.
As I blogged before, I believe the American government has successfully suppressed information that we have been in a terror war since 1993. If there was an attack, for example an airplane mysteriously falls from the sky or a building in Oklahoma is destroyed, the United States government in the name of National Security would suppress any information in the media pointing to international Islamic terrorism. This was done explicitly not to "conspire" to withold the "truth" from the citizens of America but take the wind out of the sails of terrorists by denying them the media coverage that justified and amplified their terrorist activity. Thus, if there was no admission that terror occured, it was/is believed, that terroristic activity would be diluted by a lack of media coverage. With no media coverage then no terror to be propagated.
Therefore, international Islamic terrorists will resort to bigger and larger type of attacks in the United States so that there can be no sucessful information suppression by the American government nor will the media be able to ignore such an attack as the terror attack on September 11th, 2001 showed. The second attack on the World Trade Center therefore is the prototype by which the terror networks sponsored by Middle Eastern states such as Syria, Iran and Pakistan have emmulated. A simple car-bomb attack or shooting at an airport in the United States will no longer do. It must be big or nothing.
I believe as most pundits do that we are headed for another 9/11 terror strike. Where and when is anyone's guess but it will be big and it must either equal the terror of the WTC destruction or do "better". Homeland Security definately has their hands full but they are not alone. Many organizations from military to counter-intelligence are working overtime to reveal the Islamic Conspiracy for what it is but time is running out.
