Lightly dusted with snow, one of the 19 sculpted soldiers at the Korean War Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., walks through a rice paddy on patrol. The memorial dramatically honors all who served during the Korean War. The memorial also consists of a wall with the inscription of the 22 nations supporting the war effort and a flagpole encircled by the "Pool of Remembrance." The memorial was dedicated on July 27, 1995, the 42nd anniversary of the signing of the Korean War armistice.
