Land of Terrorism
I chuckle at the insistence of the Old Media to invoke the number of dead in Iraq when it recently hit 2500 as if it were some magical numerical incantation to turn America against the War-On-Terror. America had over 16,000 MURDERS in the United States just last year! Americans murdering Americans, so I ask the Old Media, whats your point? Apparently the PTL Club (Press, Terrorists & Left) insists that the number of American combat deaths in Iraq is commensurate with defeat. The more dead one has then the more likely you will be defeated according to their calculations. If this be the case, then indeed we lost World War II, with casualties upwards of 500,000 American souls. Of course this is nonsense as I expect you very well know.
Iraq sits in the middle of an Islamic Empire that was forged nearly 1500 years ago at the expense of the Classical World and a Christian modus vevendi. In the West, Rome fell due to Germanic tribal immigration that was at first allowed to occur by the Senate in Italy but ultimately got out of control with Goths and Vandals running rampant and without due regard throughout Western Europe. The German tribes eventually settled into a more structred life and eventually embraced Christianity. Islam on the other hand came as conquering hordes when the classical world could no longer function with the absense of Roman Rule. North Africa, Spain, the Levant and ultimately Persia would fall to the Arab Islamic armies animated by their religion of war. Their only enemy that kept them in check throughout Anatolia was the Byzantine city-state of Constantnople.
As the conquered peoples of Islam settled into occupation, Islam would come to inherit much of the classical knowledge of science and mathematics that pervaded throughout North Africa at the time. Their mosques were designed and built by Byzantine architects as the domed Basilica and tower became the standard building pattern for moslem "temples" of worship. But, Islam could not abide by Roman, Greek or Persian concepts and doctrine. A process of de-Hellenization took place that forbade anything that wasn't written in Arabic or glorified their prophet Mohammed. The Moslem world slowly descended into a violent and backward civlization stuck in a time warp that denied its citizenry music, literature, science, and freedom. War, conquest and violence became the instruments to worship and glorify God.
Today really is not that much different for the average Moslem except they do have some modern conveniences such as cadillacs and air conditioning. However, traditionally they are finding it much more difficult to carry out their founders wishes by war and conquest. Moslems haven't WON a single contest against the West since the fall of Constantnople in 1453. For over 500 years, Islam has been retrograding whether in Spain or in the Balkans with Austria-Hungary or in India with the British or the Caucasus with Russia. Egypt too has been under foreign occupation as it is the vital chokepoint between Europa and the East.
Islam is not merely the "sickman" of Europe as the Ottoman Empire was so named, but in fact is the sickman of the world! With the advent of International Islamic Terrorism we are seeing the last gasp of this frightful and horrific religion. Moslem lands are known by the moniker "Land of Peace" and yet, we see how the "Land of Peace" has become a land of terrorism from Morrocco to Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Turkey, Sudan, Iraq, Syria, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Indonesia. Moslem against Moslem, murdering, kidnapping and pillaging. It is destroying itself and taking others with it. And now it is on the verge of atomic weaponery.
