Two Americas

2008 Democrat Presidential candidate John Edwards once remarked that there are "two Americas" one that is rich and the other that is poor. However, this recent indecent exposure of a certain Senator from Idaho in the men's stalls of a Minneapolis airport has shown that yes, there are indeed two Americas but not the two you might think. And no, I'm not talking about being "straight" or being "gay". The two Americas are the citizens who embrace Christendom and the other that embraces the Hellenic culture so pervasive throughout the western world today. I have dubbed this Hellene phenomena as "Cultural Babylon". Actually, there are many heads to this Babylonian Hydra that is slowly tearing American society asunder.

Are you Babylonian? You might be surprised to find out how much the Hellene culture has become embedded in your life. In the past, maybe just a generation or two ago, the antics of a President Bill Clinton or a Senator Larry Craig not only may have cost them their careers but sent them to jail for lewd conduct unbecoming of a public official. But those were the days when Christendom was the prevailing modus vivendi. Today, we are seeing the sun set upon that age and its effects are being felt all throughout society as high as the Oval Office in the White House and in the chambers or bathrooms of our senatorial class. Republican Senator Larry Craig of Idaho is but another casualty of Cultural Babylon.

Why is it that Republicans who are Hellenistic fall from political grace whereas Democrats seem to whither the public storm and carry on? Quite simply, the Democrats have embraced Cultural Babylon and all of its facets so that when they are "exposed" they can simply say "its none of your business". For Republicans, however, we continue to embrace Christendom and thus when a Republican is "exposed" as a Babylonian then the fall is much harder and unmerciful as Christians can not tolerate a Hellene in our midst. Culturally, I'm saddened to report, Christianity is on the losing end of this battle for America's soul. Cultural Babylon will prevail and we Christians, unless we are fully inculcated with Bible Doctrine, will be swept along with it.

This is not just happening in America either. It is a worldwide phenomena as all of humanity has begun to reject everything that Christ is and was.

From the Book of Romans:

Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them. Romans 1:26-32

These two systems of culture are mutually exclusive. The two cannot entwine themselves. One must prevail and the other will wither away. The Republican Party cannot tolerate a Senator Craig and is only a matter of time before his support wavers throughout Christendom.

VietNam Redo

After reading Michael Hirsh's column in Newsweek regarding his reaction to President Bush's speech before the veterans of VFW, I am completely aghast at his flippant remarks regarding the most basic points in history regarding the Vietnam War. The amazing lengths that the Left will go to defend the indefensible continues to astound me. Mr. Hirsh's commentary was nothing more than intellectual laziness of the highest order and frankly it stank to high heaven! Gee, we must be getting to close to a Presidential election.

I have often stated here on these pages that the War On Terror can and cannot be compared to World War II due to several important points:

1) Declaration of War: WWII had one and this war does not. I believe it makes a huge difference in terms of committing the ENTIRE nation to the task at hand and getting it done as quickly as possible.

2) Collateral Damage: WWII was liberal on carpet bombing and this war is not. Yes, we do have "smart" bombs thus we don't need to blast everything in sight just to hit the side of the proverbial barn. Even so, we are way too cautious in killing "non-combatants" that we have forsaken "total war".

3) Strategic Offensive: WWII demanded the unconditional surrender of our enemies and this war does not. Yes, there are "non-state" actors i.e. OBL and Al Qaida, however its states like Iran, Syria and Pakistan that harbor these very same "non-state" actors. We have decided to fight defensively instead of offensively against our enemies since the 2006 mid-term election.

I have also stated here that this war is nothing like Vietnam because unlike in Southeast Asia we have gone on the offensive in SouthWest Asia by actually invading the strongholds of our enemies in Afghanistan and Iraq. However, I have had to change my stance since the mid-term election of '06 and the exit of Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld the following day, and as a result our presence in Iraq has indeed been a virtual Vietnam deja vu'! However, is this because of President Bush or because of traitorous Democrats? Well, clearly its the latter. This is why:

1) Media - the similarity to Vietnam is more apropos to them in regards to the coverage of this conflict by the leftwing Networks and Newspapers than it is to President Bush's decision to invade Iraq. Like Vietnam, the Networks and Newspapers have clearly taken a position on this war and they want the USA out of Iraq. They are not simply "reporting the news" as they are "making the news" with their leftwing slant and soft glove approach to Islamic terrorists. For the media, the death of every AMERICAN soldier is one step closer to a Democrat victory in the White House. The media exhibit a "Stockholm Syndrome" in regards to the Islamic Terrorists that no amount of murder or mayhem is attributed to them but is ultimately America's fault. Their coverage amounts to pro bono work for the Democrat Party.

2) Democrats - Like in Vietnam, they want America to abandon our allies in Iraq and ultimately in Afghanistan. They don't care about the ramifications of withdrawal since clearly it didn't bother them that so many were butchered by Communists in Laos, Cambodia and in both North and South Vietnam. Democrats have an affinity with and love of Communists of all stripes. This is primarily due to the fact that Communists are anti-Capitalist, anti-Christian and anti-American. Subsequently, the Islamic Terrorists too fit this mold very nicely but with a Moslem religious twist. Thus, Democrats go out of the way to PROVE that the USA are the "Fascists" to support their "multicultural allies" when its the Islamic Terrorist who are indeed the lovers and believers of Islamo-Fascism. The Democrat Party is no longer the Party of FDR and JFK but simply wimps and traitors who can't tell the difference between the murderer (Islamic Terrorists) and the murdered (those killed by Islamic Terrorists).

3) The Lie - The Left is in denial and have been since Vietnam. They deny that Communists were culpable for their own actions in SouthEast Asia and today they deny that Islamic Terrorists are culpable for their own actions in Mesopotamia. The Left then said America was at fault when in fact it was the Communist North Vietnamese that were the invaders of Laos, Cambodia and South Vietnam. The Left today says America is at fault for murdered civilians on the receiving end of Islamic Terror in Iraq when in fact it's State actors like Syria and Iran and their proxies that are the criminals and culprits perpetuating misery in Baghdad and its environs. America, though not perfect, is more perfect than they and yet the Left cannot and will not admit that America is right to defend the defenseless from the thugs of Islamic radicals today and from the Communist thugs of yesteryear. They have distorted history to fit their Lie as a tonic to soothe their conscience otherwise they may go mad with the realization that they themselves have contributed to another victory to an implacable foe that need not be.

President Bush may be the architect of the invasion but its the Democrats who are the architects of retreat! Under President Bush and Secretary Rumsfeld tens of millions were liberated from brutal regimes. Under Democrats, tens of millions will be imprisoned in a Taliban like vice and bludgeoned with the hammer of Islamic revenge in which the blood of innocents will be upon their hands because when evil reared its ugly head the Left did nothing. Democrats have completely been corrupted by their own lies and cowardice that they are unworthy of being called Americans.

They want to "fight" Islamic Terrorists in a judicial fashion using police instead of the Army and Navy. And yet, we know the leftwing stance on criminals today: Pardon or look the other way whichever is the least effective means of keeping law and order. We can no more tolerate their stance on domestic criminals as we can with international ones like Osama Bin Laden. Their solutions are not solutions at all but simply accommodation of evil.

History will judge them harshly.

What's In A Name

Recently, a Dutch Roman Catholic Bishop said we should just refer to God as "Allah" so we all can get along. He was referring to all the "bickering" going on around here on Earth between the "Religion of Peace" and all her neighbors who may worship other gods. I know, he was just trying to be politically correct and ecumenical all at the same time. However, what would the Apostle Peter say to such a pitiful recommendation?

8Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: "Rulers and elders of the people! 9If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a cripple and are asked how he was healed, 10then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. 11He is " 'the stone you builders rejected, which has become the capstone. 12Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:8-12

Does it matter what we call God by? Do words mean things or is it all just "relative"? I have to say that it does matter. You just can't "do" whatever you want. Sorry, doesn't work that way. There are procedures and protocols to follow with everything in life and someones name, especially the Creator, is not something to be trivialized.

I mean really, if you knew the actor Tom Hanks would you call him up on the phone and say "Hey Shicklegruber! How are doing?" No! You call him Tom which only HE recognizes as referring to his person. This business about doing whatever you damn well please is moronic. Frankly, it drives me nuts! Its not about you, its about God. End of story.

If you were going into a country do you just fabricate your own passport? No! You obtain a passport from the country of origin and present it to them when you enter their dominion. Anything else is unacceptable! And if its forged then you better believe there will be hell to pay. So it is with God. I assure you, when you stand before him in the Supreme Court of Heaven you had better know his name!

1Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: 2"The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. 3He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come.

4"Then he sent some more servants and said, 'Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.'

5"But they paid no attention and went off—one to his field, another to his business. 6The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them. 7The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city.

8"Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. 9Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.' 10So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, both good and bad, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.

11"But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. 12'Friend,' he asked, 'how did you get in here without wedding clothes?' The man was speechless.

13"Then the king told the attendants, 'Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'

14"For many are invited, but few are chosen." Matt 22:1-14

So, if Jesus Christ himself recognizes that some people will do whatever they please regardless of procedure or protocol then this story is indeed God's answer to them who want to call him "Allah". The "wedding clothes" are the garments GIVEN BY GOD to them that believe. You will note the man tried to get into the party without those same clothes. No doubt he fabricated his own "wedding clothes" from his own good works. It was probably a "tie-dye" T-shirt of some sort. And no doubt he probably referred to God as "Allah". Sorry! End of story. God doesn't tolerate interlopers. Nor does he tolerate anyone who thinks they can do whatever they damn well please especially when it involves the Almighty.

Now, go and sin no more.

Tidings Out Of The North

Amazing times we live in. I know I keep saying it but its true. Big things are happening as we enter a new era of global change culturally, economically, politically and especially in the sphere of foreign policy. We have former Vice President and loser of the 2000 American Presidential election, Albert Arnold Al Gore Jr, proclaiming apocalypse if we don't reduce greenhouse emissions from that worldwide bogeyman, Global Warming. And yet, its been getting colder and colder throughout the earth. Clearly, God is making fun of Al Gore. Is this the future? Or is Al Gore simply and sadly mistaken.

Speaking of "cold", other apparitions from the past have arisen from the dead. The age old quest for land! But not just any land will do. In this case its the Arctic that now looms larger than ever in the minds of men. At least in the minds of Russians, that is.

Russia has staked their claim on the Arctic because this area of the world holds approximately 25% of the worlds oil and gas reserves. This of course has alarmed the other nations that have a stake in the Arctic's future namely Denmark, Canada, Norway and the United States of America. Even after degrading remarks from the Canadian Prime Minister, she too has decided to build both a naval and army base in its more northerly outpost in Canada's bid for this icey region. But wait there's more!

From the Telegraph:

The scramble for the Arctic gathered pace yesterday as Denmark prepared to challenge Russia's bid for the North Pole and Canada vowed to defend its "sovereignty" over the region's frozen waters.

Spurred into action by a Russian underwater mission last month to plant a flag on the ocean floor beneath the Pole, Danish scientists will depart tomorrow for the Arctic to pursue Copenhagen's rival claim.

Over the next month they will seek evidence that the Lomonosov Ridge, a 1,200-mile, underwater mountain range running close to the Pole, is a geographical extension of Greenland, a Danish possession.

Now the Danes are in the race. Leave it to the Vikings not to be outdone in the frigid north by their cousins from Moscow. Perhaps if Al Gore is right and we do see the Arctic "melt" from the extreme heat of Global Warming then perhaps the time is ripe to claim the Arctic from the Russians before its too late?

The mission will strain relations between Denmark and Russia, which claims to have found evidence linking the ridge to Siberia.

Both countries will seek adjudication from a United Nations commission in the next few years that could award a large swathe of Arctic territory to the country with the most compelling case.

Facing accusations that his government had ceded advantage in the race to the Russians, Stephen Harper, the Canadian prime minister, yesterday vowed to defend what he called Canada's sovereignty over the Arctic after a three-day tour.

"We either use it or lose it," he said. "And make no mistake, this government intends to use it."
Russia, Denmark and Canada all have overlapping claims in the Arctic, which is believed to have vast energy resources.

Denmark predicted confidently that it would emerge the winner.

"The preliminary investigations done so far are very promising," said Helge Sander, the Danish science minister."There are things suggesting that Denmark could be given the North Pole."

Canada and the US are also at odds over control of the Northwest Passage, which could become more accessible to shipping as the polar ice cap continues to melt.

And you thought we had arrived at the "end of history". Think again.

Ignorance Is Bliss

As the Senate awaits General Petrarius' Iraq Report come September, I'm reminded daily by almost everyone how little people know about military operations in general. I have to say its appalling. Nearly all of the liberals/progressives/socialists have got it wrong and yet, even conservatives seem extremely ignorant of the lessons of history when it comes to waging war. Conventional wisdom I'm afraid is the modus operandi when it comes to understanding which battles were won and which were lost as well as the reasons for both in achieving victory and suffering defeat and conventional wisdom is almost always wrong. This is the unfortunate side-effect of having a "all-volunteer" army instead of a draft: not enough of us have served in uniform. Not to say that if you never have served you can't figure out what's going on but it makes it harder to comprehend the ramifications of military operations.

Let's begin with the so called "surge" in Iraq. This is a tactical operation which we will win, no question about it. We have the superior quality and quantity of troops to take charge of the situation. However, I would like to remind everyone we are fighting "insurgents" or "guerrilla forces" not conventional armies by any stretch of the imagination. This does make a difference on the battlefield as far as military operations are concerned. We will win and have won. I wish to repeat myself: we will win and have won. However, this is a tactical maneuver which will result in tactical victories. This is not a strategic movement resulting in strategic victory. Therefore, we will be victorious tactically in Iraq, however the strategic victory still eludes us. Its the strategic victory that ends wars not tactical ones. A case in point is Vietnam. Here we were victorious in all of our encounters with North Vietnam and her proxy, the Viet Cong. Yet, though we were victorious tactically in South Vietnam, our refusal to invade the North was the strategic defeat that we inflicted upon ourselves. After 10 bloody years of tactical victory, we packed up and went home.

Will Iraq also end up the same way? Ah, good question. At first, under the aegis of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, both Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq were outstanding successes. Both of these evil regimes fell within weeks after we unleashed the dogs of war. We not only achieved tactical victory but also strategic victory because we invaded the enemies strongholds instead of just jousting with them on the hinterlands of the battlefield in the give and take mentality that was so pervasive throughout the Cold War between 1948 and 1989. After September 11th, 2001 we decided to take no prisoners and initiated the so called Doctrine of Pre-emption: we went on the offensive. The defensive mentality of the Cold War Era no longer applied. As a result, our casualties were so incredibly low, thank you Donald Rumsfeld, that now we will expect all of our conflicts in the future to be just as "painless" due to the success of our military victories in both the tactical and strategic realms. Is this a "Revolution in Military Affairs"? No, of course not, its simply a return to common sense.

However, the mid-term election of 2006 apparently has changed the dynamic of this strategic position in America. Since the Democrat Party has returned to power we have returned to a defensive position strategically in spite of the clear and present success of strategic offensive operations. This is a Cold War mentality that ignores the reality of the 21st Century. Too many people, both liberal and conservative, are trying to secure strategic victory from a tactical position. This ultimately will result in strategic defeat even though we will win on a tactical level such as we are currently pursuing in Iraq under General Petriaus.

Often this War On Terror is compared to World War II. In one sense this is true, the War On Terror is global in scope much like WWII. However, in the other sense, its not like WWII because we are being way too nice to our enemies in that collateral damage is viewed negatively and thus we refrain from "bombing them to Kingdom come" as we did during WWII against the Germans, Italians and Japanese. More importantly, the War On Terror is not like WWII precisely because we are not on a strategic offensive against our enemies. We are fighting defensively from our secured positions in Afghanistan and Iraq. We must go on the offensive into Iran, Syria and any other Muslim wasteland that dare raise their hand against us and take the war directly to their homes. This will mean a Declaration of War by Congress, this means we will need to call up the Draft, this means collateral damage will become a fact of life for Muslims who oppose the United States of America. Are we anywhere near this outcome politically, militarily and mentally?

The stakes are very high in the War On Terror. It is the height of arrogance and naivety to think we can simply "walk away" from Iraq. The Islamic Jihad being waged by Syria, Iran and other miserable regimes in the Middle East against the West will gain so much political momentum from our "retreat" that Vietnam is going to look like a picnic in comparison. Perception in many ways is more important than reality when it comes to Islam. We cannot afford to operate in a defensive mode. We must engage the enemy on the strategic plane of the Middle East in its entirety not just the tactical plane in Mesopotamia. Mere missile bombardment will not due. We must invade these nations with boots on the ground and the US Navy and Air Force supporting them all the way to the capitol of the enemy. Anything less will ultimately fail and the West, not just the United States, will suffer for its lack of vision.
